The buildings are going up faster than the people are arriving. So who is actually going to run them? Is anyone hiring their way out? No. They're writing a standard. The eighties solved this for machines: SECS/GEM, the language every tool still speaks to the factory. SEMI is writing the robot version now; it ballots August nineteenth. Here's what gets skipped: Lam Research already runs maintenance robots inside advanced fabs, on bolts people get wrong five percent of the time. Is that a robotics problem?
